Team Connections

During our Rookie year, Orion | NorthStarRobotics was a mentee team within the Global Mentorship Program where we were introduced to two teams: #1574 MisCar and #19176 Broboti. They mentored us in robotic aspects while we helped provide them with outreach opportunities. This upcoming season, we plan to act as a mentor team for business‑related aspects and cannot wait to expand our connections with the GMP!

We also connected with another local FTC team, #30458 The Masterminds. Through this opportunity, we supported them with their portfolio and judging presentation.

We also hold connections through multiple homeschool co‑ops throughout central Indiana where we recruit members from.

Throughout the FIRST Age Season, both students and mentors dedicated time to volunteering at the following FLLC and FTC events:

UIndy FLLC QT (11/22/25)
Westfield FTC QT (12/06/25)
UIndy FLLC States (01/18/26)

Two of our students hold leadership positions in the FRC scouting alliance that 28 FRC teams across Indiana participate in! Through this, we have been able to provide a valuable service to the FRC community in addition to both FLLC and FTC.

During the FIRST Age Season, we volunteered 157 hours with four student team members. This means that 31% of our team participated in Outreach during our Rookie Season.

While we still maintain our connections with all of our past outreach events, we have added another partner: KidsExploreRobotics, one of our largest outreach partners.

For the current season, our members have logged 152 hours (96.8% of last season’s!) and 67% of our team members have contributed as volunteers. We are continuing to look for more outreach opportunities and are excited for our future growth.
